Elke playing „SPEED“ with the girls…

Today and tomorrow we are together with the Molapo-family. Members of the family are Mohlanka and his wife Nolwazi and their two twin-daughters Kholu (Chodu in German speaking) and Ntoitse. Nolwazi had been the very first volunteer from South Africa, sent by the lutheran circuit of Durban to its partner circuit Melle (nowadays Melle-Georgsmarienhütte circuit). She was in Germany in the year 1994, nearly 20 years ago – and our friendship with her and her family is still very lively!

After having Breakfast together in a very welcoming atmosphere we went together to a big school festival, as the daughter, which become five years old in May, are in a pre-kindergarten, which is belonging to the American International School in Johannesburg. A big sized green area of the school ground was filled with attractive offerings to play and discover in a American style – loud and colourful.

While the girls and her father had more joy on the playground, Nolwazi invited Elke and me to have a visit to the “Monte Casino Bird Sanctury” in Four-Way, a spectacular show of bird and other smaller animals from all over the world.

All the events of the day have been accompanied by talks with Nolwazi and Mohlanka in a very trustful atmosphere about private and political topic and with games and coming nearer with Kholu and Ntoitse. Thank you for the day!

I’m not the first time in Dubai. But again I feel the globalization in this place, which brings together people from Asia, Europe, Africa and the Americas. But people don’t realy talk with another. Some are lookng how to spend their money. Others are simply waiting for teir connection flight. Some seam to be lost in the hugh building. Elke and me are waiting for the next flight to Johannesburg…

After traveling with three trains, we have arrived at Hamburg Airport. My brother Thomas joined us at the railway station and has come with us to the airport. Thanks for being with us for the farewell!

We have checked in the luggage (30 and 22 kg), so now we are free from the heavy load and relax a bit with a coffee. We are still excited about all what is coming. We have injoyed all the posts which came in via WhatsApp. Thanks for being with us.

The next post will come earliest around midnight, when we are landing in the United Arabic Emirates.

Cold wheather at Bohmte railway station: 10°C. We are travelling via Bremen and Hamburg to the airport near Hamburg. From there we’ll start to Dubai and then finally to Johannesburg.
